Are Bottom Lash Extensions Worth It?

Eyelash extensions are a fantastic way to lengthen and thicken your natural lashes. They can look quite natural but can also be rather dramatic. They also make your eyes appear more open.

Although lower eyelash extensions are also available, top eyelash extensions are more common. You might question why anyone would desire bottom eyelash extensions when thickening and darkening them with mascara is sufficient.

Bottom Lash Extensions

The extensions on the bottom of the eyelashes are thinner and shorter. The procedure for applying is the same as for applying for higher extensions:

The lash artist uses tweezers to pick up each individual extension, coats it in lash adhesive, and adheres it to your natural lashes. One of the native lashes is attached to one extension.

The bottom lashes will balance out the top lashes and make the eyes appear more open and awake. The nicest part is that they appear quite subtle and organic.

This procedure is far quicker than the upper eyelash extensions procedure, which can take up to 2.5 hours on average. This is because putting an extension to each bottom lash would be excessive because they are not as dense as the top lashes.

Only a portion of the lashes are affected; 15-20 extensions are sufficient for a more natural impression (some add 30–40, depending on the condition of the bottom lashes), thus the procedure normally takes no more than 30 minutes.

The aftercare is the same because the bottom and upper eyelash extensions are frequently applied together. It’s not particularly difficult, but it’s crucial to keep your lashes dry for the first 24 hours following the procedure.

Basically, you should refrain from taking long showers, swimming, steaming, and sobbing. Avoid using oil-based products, especially mascara, and eye makeup.
